On February 1, 2016 Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin held a working breakfast with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Canada the Honorable Stéphane Dion, within the framework of his visit to Ukraine.

During the meeting, the top Canadian diplomat confirmed full support of Ukraine’s independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine by the new Government of Canada.

Mr. Dion assured that Canada will continue to implement technical assistance programs which promote reforms in Ukraine, in particular, by improving the efficiency of law enforcement, fighting corruption and strengthening defensive capabilities of our country.

The sides also discussed the situation in Donbas in the context of the implementation of the Minsk agreements.

Wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation between Ukraine and Canada - including initiatives in political, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres, - were discussed.
