On 11 February 2016, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Sergiy Kyslytsya received United Nations Resident Coordinator, Humanitarian Coordinator, UNDP Resident Representative in Ukraine Neal Walker.
The sides discussed the relevant issues of Ukraine-UN cooperation, particularly the coordination of efforts in lead-up to the World Humanitarian Summit, to be held form 23 to 24 May 2016 in Istanbul at the initiative of the UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.
During the meeting, concerns were expressed over the continued lack of humanitarian access to the certain areas of the Donetsk region for the UN organizations, the activities of which on the occupied territories have been blocked since July 2015 due to position of the so-called “DNR”.
