On March 16, in Kyiv Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine for European Integration Olena Zerkal and State Secretary for Foreign Affairs of Spain Ignacio Ibáñez led Ukrainian-Spanish political consultations.
The talks were focused on issues of bilateral relations, including practical steps to further deepen political dialogue and economic cooperation, as well as on pressing issues of the international agenda in the context of the Minsk process, the situation in Donbass, the illegal occupation of Crimea, the countering of Russian aggression and keeping sanctions against Russia in place.
Particular attention was paid to the political situation in Ukraine and Spain, as well as to the reforming process in our state.
While discussing the relations between Ukraine and the EU O.Zerkal thanked Spain for supporting the visa-free regime for Ukraine.
The sides welcomed the cooperation within international organizations and expressed their readiness to continue the further practical interaction, in particular in the framework of the UN Security Council, in light of non-permanent membership of the two states in this body.
