On April 12, Deputy Foreign Minister Mr. Sergiy Kyslytsya chaired an interagency meeting initiated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine. The main topic of the discussion was cooperation between central authorities of Ukraine and the United Nations human rights mechanisms, including the Monitoring Mission on Human Rights in Ukraine (HRMMU), which has been working in our country at the invitation of the Ukrainian Government since March 2014.
The participants of the event discussed the 13th report of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights on the situation in Ukraine. The meeting demonstrated common intention of the state bodies of Ukraine to cooperate closely with the aim to promote and protect human rights in our country.
The discussion also reaffirmed consistent adherence of Ukraine to opening of the occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea as well as parts of Donetsk and Lugansk regions for international and institutional treaty body monitoring mechanisms.
