Ukraine welcomes the signing on December 17, 2015 in Skhirat (Morocco) of the Political Agreement brokered by Martin Kobler, Special Representative of the UN Secretary General.

Ukraine hopes for an early implementation of the Agreement that paves the way for normalization of the situation in Libya. We are convinced that the activities of the Government of National Accord, which is to be formed in accordance with the Agreement, will be widely supported both by Libyans and international community. This will allow the Government to face current challenges and threats in order to consolidate the Libyan society, overcome the economic and security crises, and contribute to international efforts of combating terrorism and illegal migration in the region.

Ukraine confirms its willingness to enhance cooperation, including within the UN Security Council, with the international community and Libya for the sake of building the democratic society in this country.
