Within the framework of the official visit to China on the invitation of the Chinese Side Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Mr. Kostyantyn Gryshchenko visited Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR), where on 19 July had a meeting with Vice Chairman of Tibet Autonomous Regional Government Mr. Gong Puguang.

Chinese official praised the first in bilateral relations’ history visit of the member of Ukrainian Government to Tibet. He informed about significant achievements reached in the process of social and economic development of TAR, underlining huge tourist potential of the region. Gong Puguang expressed wish that Tibet would become one of the most popular tourist destinations for Ukrainian tourists on the territory of China.

Kostyantyn Gryshchenko confirmed firmness and consistency of Ukrainian position concerning support and respect of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of China. He fully agreed with the great perspectives of developing bilateral cooperation in the tourist sphere, stressing the necessity to work as well on the other fields of interaction between Tibet and Ukrainian regions, first of all, trade and economy, health care and medicine
