In the framework of his working visit to Dubrovnik to take part in the Croatia Summit 2012, Minister for Foreign Affairs Kostyantyn Gryshchenko met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Slovenia Karl Erjavec.
The sides discussed intensifying political dialogue on the basis of last year’s successful official visit of President of Slovenia Danilo Türk to Ukraine.
The parties agreed to strengthen cooperation at the level of both countries’ Ministries of Foreign Affairs, specifically to organize a visit of the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine to Ljubljana in the nearest future.
The Ministers positively assessed the gradual growth of trade turnover between the states. In 2011, it grew 30% reaching nearly $300 million. They also stressed certainty that the 7th meeting of the Intergovernmental Ukrainian-Slovenian Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation scheduled for this autumn would provide an additional boost to bilateral trade.
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Slovenia Karl Erjavec expressed his willingness to actively support the official Kyiv in its European integration aspirations, especially in the context of liberalization of visa regulations for Ukrainian citizens.
