On 16 September 2016 Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin started his official visit to the Portuguese Republic. The main purpose of the visit is to strengthen political dialogue, to ensure political support for the territorial integrity of Ukraine by Portugal and introduction of the EU visa free regime for Ukraine as well as to promote the rollover of the EU sanctions against Russia.
During the visit, the Minister will meet with Deputy President of the Assembly of the Republic (Parliament) Jorge Lacão and will hold negotiations with Portugal’s Foreign Minister Augusto Silva.
The visit will result in signing of the Roadmap of Ukrainian-Portuguese relations for 2016-2018.
Interview of the Minister to Portuguese media, meetings with the Ukrainian community in Portugal, experts and businessmen are also planned.
