On October 26-27, 2016 the delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran headed by Special Representative of the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran for the Caspian Sea Affairs, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Iran Mr. Ebrahim Rahimpour pays an official visit to Kyiv for political consultations with the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine and the meetings with the leadership of the ministries of Ukraine.
On October, 26 the political consultations took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine. The delegation of the MFA of Ukraine was led by Deputy Foreign Minister Mr. Sergiy Kyslytsya. In the course of the negotiations the parties held in-depth exchange of views on a wide range of issues of bilateral relations and cooperation.
It was agreed to intensify political dialogue at different levels. Special attention was paid to the increasing of trade and economic cooperation in areas of common interest.
Energy, trade, agriculture, implementation of joint projects and establishing joint production of wide range of goods were identified as priority directions.
As Mr. E.Rahimpour noted the implementation of the the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action as well as effective implementation of the agreements reached during the meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on trade and economic cooperation held in March this year have created favorable conditions for substantial revival of practical cooperation in all fields as well as further bringing such cooperation to a new level.
Within the framework of the consultations Deputy Ministers of the two countries also held exchange of views on the situation in Ukraine, Iran, the Middle East and South Asia.
Iranian Foreign Ministry delegation will continue its work in Ukraine and will have a number of meetings in the Ukrainian ministries.
