30 November – 1 December 2016 Mr.Sergiy Kyslytsya, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine took part in the Second High Level Meeting of Global partnership for Effective Development Cooperation.
During the plenary meetings the current status, progress and challenges of implementation of the Goals of the 2030 Agenda for the Sustainable Development (SDGs) were discussed. A pledge of leaving no one behind, including socially vulnerable populations and persons with disabilities was reiterated in particular.
On 1 December 2016, Mr. Sergiy Kyslytsya took part in the Plenary Session "Economic Empowerment of Women and Youth: Inclusivity and Mainstreaming for Effective and Accelerated Development".
In his speech Mr. Kyslytsya in the capacity of a Chair of Council of Europe’s Gender Equality Commission reiterated the necessity of implementation SDGs, which shall include combating violence against women and girls, guaranteeing equal access of women to justice and called upon the international partners to strengthen and accelerate interaction in this sphere.
As a result of the meeting, a “Nairobi outcome document" has been adopted, which contains additional political commitments to carry out effective cooperation and partnership as an instrument of achievement of universal and interconnected Sustainable Development Goals.
