On January 27, 2017, the Embassy of Canada in Ukraine together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine held an official event dedicated to the 25th Anniversary of diplomatic relations between Ukraine and Canada.
Before the beginning of the event, Canadian side has officially handed over to Ukraine 10ambulances purchased and delivered to Kyiv with the financial assistance of the Government and ordinary citizens of Canada.
In their remarks Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Canada to Ukraine Roman Waschuk stressed that relations between Ukraine and Canada can be described not only as partnership, but also as true friendship, given the historical ties between the citizens of the two countries and the current level of political trust between the leaders of Ukraine and Canada.
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and the Canadian Ambassador to Ukraine expressed confidence that Ukrainian - Canadian relations will continue to develop dynamically, stressing that both parties hope to increase bilateral trade after entry into force of the recently signed Canada-Ukraine Free Trade Agreement (CUFTA).
