“Latvia is ready to support Ukraine in the process of reforms, in particular in the sphere of agriculture”, Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Latvia Edgars Rinkēvičs told Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin on working visit to Latvia on 29 September.
With that regard it is essential to step up realization of the consultancy project related to rural development in Ukraine, co-financed by the Latvian side.
Minister Klimkin commended Ukrainian – Latvian cooperation and noted positive trends in economic development, in particular the growth in trade turnover in the first half of 2017.
The parties focused on adjusting their positions on the eve of the next Eastern Partnership Summit in November 2017 in Brussels. The Latvian side reassured of its invariable support of territorial integrity and sovereignty, as well as fighting the Russian aggression.
During the Riga Conference Pavlo Klimkin met with President Raimonds Vējonis of Latvia, who stated the readiness of his country to comprehensively assist Ukraine, as its important partner, in reform implementation.
The Foreign Minister thanked for the organization of the vacation of children of Ukrainian ATO soldiers.
