On 15th January 2018 the Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Mr. Sergiy Kyslytsya hold a meeting with the Ambassador of Japan to Ukraine Mr. Shigeki Sumi to discuss the results of bilateral interactions in 2017 and to define priorities of cooperation for 2018.
Among last year achievement the sides noted active political dialogue, including two meetings of the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Mr. Pavlo Klimkin with newly appointed Japanese Foreign Minister Taro Kono, holding of the Year of Japan in Ukraine, establishment of Ukraine Office of the Japan International Cooperation Agency “JICA”, simplification by the Japanese Government of visa requirements for Ukrainian citizens.
The main objective of the meeting was the coordination of bilateral cooperation priorities in the political and economic spheres for 2018. In particular there were discussed preparations for a raw of planned visits at high and highest level, as well as defined priority infrastructure projects in Ukraine to be implemented with the participation of the Japan International Cooperation Agency “JICA”.
Following a meeting, it was agreed to continue further cooperation on the mentioned issues at working level.
