The issues of Russian armed aggression against Ukraine, implementation of Minsk agreements, protection of sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, and the inadmissibility of violating the legal rights of the Crimean Tatars by Russian occupation authorities, intensification of the Ukrainian-Indonesian political dialogue, enhancement of bilateral cooperation in practical spheres, strengthening of interaction on the international arena were among the key points on the agenda of the 4-th round of Ukrainian-Indonesian political consultations held on February 22, 2018 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
«Political consultations we are having today is clear evidence of the mutual intention aimed at the intensification of the entire range of relations between Ukraine and the Republic of Indonesia, as well as development of mutually beneficial cooperation both bilaterally and multilaterally» - State Secretary Mr. Andriy Zayats stressed.
The Director General for the America and Europe of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia Mr. Muhammad Anshor emphasized Indonesia’s readiness for fruitful cooperation with Ukraine in all spheres, and expressed the interest in the experience gained by Ukraine during its non-permanent membership in the UN Security Council.
The Ukrainian side drew attention of the Indonesian counterpart to gross violations of the rights of Crimean Tatars at the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea and called upon Indonesia, as one of the largest Muslim countries in the world, to provide a tight monitoring of compliance status, including religious freedoms.
The parties also agreed that maintaining regular contacts between Foreign Ministries of Ukraine and the Republic of Indonesia is an effective mechanism for preparing forthcoming mutual visits at the highest level.
