On May 28-29, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin will be on a working visit to New York. He will participate in the UN Security Council briefing to discuss the issue of Russian aggression against Ukraine and review ways to resolve the conflict.
Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland Jacek Czaputowicz will chair the Security Council’s meeting.
UN Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs Rosemary DiCarlo, UN Assistant Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs & Deputy Emergency Relief Coordinator Ursula Mueller, as well as Chief Monitor of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine Ertugrul Apakan are expected to brief the Security Council.
The participation of Minister Pavlo Klimkin in the meeting will become yet another opportunity to draw the attention of the UN Security Council and the entire international community to the Russian aggression against Ukraine and violations of international humanitarian and human rights law by the Russian Federation.
During his stay in New York, the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine will also hold a number of bilateral meetings with foreign partners and the UN leadership.
Mr. Klimkin will also attend the commemoration ceremony in honour of the fallen UN ‘blue helmets’.
