During the talks between Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin and Federal Foreign Minister of Germany Heiko Maas, who was on a working visit to Ukraine on 31st May and 1st June, issues related to supporting Ukraine in defending the territorial integrity and sovereignty of our country were discussed.
The Heads of Foreign Ministries visited the Contact Line in the area of the Joint Forces Operation, got acquainted with the situation in the Donbas and brought up the issue of introducing a UN peacekeeping mission to the occupied territory of Donbas.
The Heads of Foreign Ministries praised the state of Ukrainian-German bilateral relations, especially the intensification of bilateral trade and investment cooperation.
Pavlo Klimkin stressed the importance of preventing the realization of the North Stream 2 project, which would only contribute to deepening the European crisis.
The parties agreed to hold a meeting of the Normandy Four in the near future.
