On July 13, during the visit to Brussels, Foreign Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin met with the EU Commissioner for ENP and enlargement negotiations Johannes Hahn

The interlocutors praised the results of the 20th jubilee Ukraine-EU Summit, laid down in the Joint Declaration, and discussed the ways of further expansion of Ukraine's political, economic and sectoral integration to the European Union.

The parties called on the Russian Federation to release all illegally detained Ukrainian political prisoners, in particular Ukrainian film director Oleg Sentsov, who is on hunger strike for more than 60 days.

The sides specifically touched on the development of the Eastern Partnership initiative, in particular the expectations from the Eastern Partnership Ministerial meeting in Luxembourg in October 2018, as well as the informal meeting EU-Ukraine-Georgia-Moldova at the level of ministers of economy and trade scheduled for September 2018.
