On 26 September 2018, in the presence of President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin, while participating in the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly in New York, together with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uruguay Rodolfo Nin Novoa signed an Agreement on Mutual Abolition of Visa Requirements. Once the agreement enters into force, the citizens of Ukraine with biometric passports will be able to travel to Uruguay without visas.
Two ministers discussed prospects for the development of the bilateral political dialogue and the deepening of cooperation in trade and economic areas.
Pavlo Klimkin invited his Uruguayan colleague to visit Ukraine at with a working visit.
