The Embassy of Ukraine in the USA in cooperation with the U.S. Committee for Ukrainian Holodomor Genocide Awareness and The Heritage Foundation held the Forum in commemoration of the 85th Anniversary of the 1932-1933 Holodomor-Genocide in Ukraine.
Ambassador of Ukraine to the USA Valeriy Chaly officially opened the Forum welcoming the U.S. strong support of Ukraine in spreading the truth about Holodomor-Genocide.
Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin in his speech emphasized that the recognition of Holodomor-Genocide in Ukraine by the U.S. Government was a strong signal of solidarity with the Ukrainian people.
Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Wess Mitchell, Senator Robert Portman, Congressman Sander Levin and Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur also participated in the event and delivered their speeches in commemoration of the victims of the Holodomor-Genocide in Ukraine.
The Forum’s participants had the opportunity to watch the short films - «When We Starve» and «Uncounted Since 1932».
Foreign Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin, Ambassador of Ukraine Valriy Chaly and representatives of Ukrainian diaspora laid the symbolic bundles of wheat to Holodomor-Genocide Memorial in Washington, D.C.
