On January 17, 2019, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine hosted a thematic meeting of the National Commission of Ukraine for UNESCO.
Chairing the meeting was Mr. Sergiy Kyslytsya, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Chairperson of the National Commission for UNESCO with the participation of members of the National Commission, representatives of ministries and government institutions, local authorities, the Ukrainian National Committee of the International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS).
The participants focused on the subject of cooperation between Ukraine and UNESCO in conservation of cultural and natural heritage, discussed the process of adding Ukrainian sites and elements to the UNESCO World Heritage List and the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
Those gathered highlighted the importance of further active cooperation with UNESCO and other international partners in order to promote Ukrainian cultural and natural heritage sites in the world, as well as to save them for future generations.
