On 12 March 2019, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine hosted the coordination meeting of the ministries of Ukraine with organizations of the United Nations system accredited in Ukraine.
Participants of the meeting included senior officials of the Government agencies, working with the UN as well as heads of the UN organizations, accredited in Ukraine.
In their opening addresses Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Sergiy Kyslytsya and UN Resident Coordinator, Humanitarian Coordinator Osnat Lubrani were unanimous in highlighting good cooperation in support of economic and social transformations in Ukraine, as well as UN important role in addressing the humanitarian needs of people affected as a result of the Russian aggression, including the internally displaced persons.
The meeting discussed the progress in implementation of the Government of Ukraine – UN Partnership Framework for 2018-2022. Particular attention was given to the issue of reinforcing synergies to achieve Sustainable Development Goals, promote social cohesion, gender equality and human rights, including rights of Ukrainian migrant workers abroad.
The meeting also agreed to promote further fruitful cooperation between the UN and Government agencies of Ukraine, with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs providing its overall coordination.
