"Partnership between Ukraine and Norway is filling with concrete substance", - it was underlined at the meeting of Deputy Minister Yegor Bozhok with the Ambassador of Norway to Ukraine Ole Horpestad on May 8, 2019.
Yegor Bozhok expressed appreciation to Norway for the invariable political support for Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as considerable practical assistance to our country aimed at overcoming the consequences of an ongoing Russian aggression, mainly, through the implementation of a number of humanitarian projects in the eastern Ukraine.
It was noted the intensification of trade and economic cooperation between the states and the growth of volumes of Norwegian investments into Ukrainian economy, which was mutually assessed as a positive effect of the implementation of reforms. In this regard, Yegor Bozhok expressed his gratitude to the Government of Norway for practical assistance in implementing a set of reforms, primarily in the field of strengthening the rule of law.
The parties noted a common position of Ukraine and Norway regarding the condemnation of the Kremlin's illegal step of "passportization" of the Ukrainian citizens as yet another brutal violation of both norms of international law and Russia’s obligations under Minsk agreements.
Yegor Bozhok and Ole Horpestad discussed the further steps to deepen the bilateral dialogue, in particular, holding in a short while in Kyiv the next round of political consultations between MFA of Ukraine and MFA of Norway, as well as the first meeting of the Ukrainian-Norwegian working group on nuclear safety.
