On July 17 2019, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine on European Integration Olena Zerkal received copies of credentials from Tomaz Mencin, the newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia to Ukraine.

During the meeting, both sides noted positive dynamics of bilateral contacts and expressed mutual interest in further deepening of the Ukrainian-Slovenian co-operation, in particular, in the trade and economic sphere.

Ms. Olena Zerkal expressed gratitude to Slovenia for the support of Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, i.a. while working together in international organizations.

Tomaz Mencin indicated Slovenia's readiness to provide practical assistance to Ukraine in implementing systemic reforms, particularly in decentralization.
