Sergiy Kyslytsya expressed gratitude to the representatives of the most important and largest International Election Observation Mission (IEOM) for their professional work in organizing an independent monitoring of the early parliamentary elections in Ukraine.
The Heads of Delegation of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, the European Parliament, the NATO Parliamentary Assembly and the Mission of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights complimented the Ukrainian side on the successful elections in line with Ukraine’s international commitments and national legislation.
According to the IEOM, the early parliamentary elections in Ukraine of 21 July 2019 were competitive, while fundamental rights and freedoms were observed. The Mission also expressed commendation of the preparations for and conducting of the elections.
In their conclusions, the IEOM members pointed out that the elections took place against the backdrop of the ongoing armed conflict in the east of the country, and the illegal annexation of the Crimean Peninsula by the Russian Federation, thus resulting in no elections held in Crimea and certain areas of Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts.
