On December 5, 2019, at the OSCE Ministerial Council Meeting in Bratislava, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Vadym Prystaiko met with Director of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) Ingibjörg Sólrún Gísladóttir.

During the meeting, the ODIHR Director communicated the Office's willingness to provide expert assistance to the Ukrainian side in strengthening electoral processes in Ukraine, including based on the ODIHR recommendations following successful 2019 presidential and parliamentary elections in Ukraine.

The parties also discussed the prospects of the ODIHR being involved in the monitoring of local elections in some areas of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
