On 12 December Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Vadym Prystaiko met with UN Under-Secretary-General for Political and Peacebuilding Affairs Rosemary A. DiCarlo.
During the meeting, the parties reviewed various aspects of Ukraine-UN cooperation, in particular humanitarian assistance provided to the affected population in Donbas as well as support for the reform process in Ukraine. Particular attention was paid to discussing possible ways of UN further support for the efforts of the international community in resolving the Russian-Ukrainian armed conflict, including in the context of the outcomes of the recent meeting of the leaders of the Normandy Four in Paris.
Rosemary A. DiCarlo stated that the UN remains strongly committed to supporting independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders and is ready to further assist the Government of Ukraine in its efforts to address the whole spectrum of problems caused by the conflict.
