Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Kostyantyn Gryshchenko visits the Republic of Moldova.
The visit includes talks between the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and acting President, Chairman of the Parliament of Moldova Marian Lupu, Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova Vlad Filat, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of Moldova Yuri Leanca, and the leader of the Communist Party of Moldova Vladimir Voronin .
The visit of Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Kostyantyn Gryshchenko seeks qualitative intensification of bilateral dialogue on the whole range of Ukrainian-Moldovan relations. There is to be discussed with senior leadership of Moldova the mutually beneficial way of solving in the nearest future the pressing issues in bilateral cooperation, including the completion of the common border demarcation and the settlement of property relations which is to allow both states to concentrate efforts on implementing a common strategy for European integration.
Special attention during the visit of theForeign Minister of Ukraine is to be focused on current issues of the Transnistrian conflict settlement, based on the principles of territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Republic of Moldova, provided granting the Transnistrian region a special status and protecting the rights and interests of the inhabitants of the region.
Confirming the interest of Ukraine in cooperation development with the Republic of Moldova in the cultural sphere as well as in the field of minority rights protection, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine is to hold a meeting with representatives of Ukrainian community in Moldova.
