During the meeting, main attention was dedicated to the current issues of the Ukrainian-Lithuanian relations, first of all in the context of the intensification of the bilateral political dialog on a high and the highest levels. The implementation of the Road Map for the development of the strategic partnership between Ukraine and Lithuania on 2011-2012 as well as preparation of the same document on 2013-2014 were also discussed.

Particular emphasis was made on the European integration of Ukraine. The parties appreciated today’s 8-th meeting of the Permanent Ukrainian-Lithuanian commission on the European integration. The Lithuanian Side reaffirmed its comprehensive support of Ukraine’s Eurointegration aspirations, also in the context of signing and further ratification of the Agreement on association between Ukraine and the European Union, as well as fulfilment by Ukraine of the commitments within the Plan of Action on the liberalization by the EU of the visa regime for citizens of Ukraine.
