The parties highly evaluated the results of the first official visit of President of Cyprus Dimitris Christofias to Ukraine (3-5 July) which gave a powerful impulse to the development of bilateral relations.
During the meeting there were agreed joint steps to be taken in order to fulfill the agreements reached by the Heads of the States.
Within this context special attention was paid to the legal framework expansion, especially, to acceleration of negotiations on the draft agreement on Double Taxation Avoidance.
The Ministers also discussed a wide range of issues on Cyprus supporting the EU integration course of Ukraine, primarily in the process of implementation by the EU a visa-free regime for Ukraine's citizens, and further visa procedure simplification within existing contractual instruments.
Ukraine's Foreign Minister Kostyantyn Gryshchenko accepted the invitation of the Head of the MFA of Cyprus Markos Kyprianou to come to Nicosia on an official visit.
