The Russian Foreign Ministry’s comment on the alleged violation of the rights of national minorities in Ukraine is another example of false hysteria, which is created by the Russian side in pursuit of their goals - to disrupt the peace and tranquility in our country and to justify their aggressive actions in Crimea.
After the complete failure of the Russian arguments in the UN, these statements are an attempt to compensate for their own warped view of reality. The representatives of foreign countries whose national communities are mentioned in the comments of the Russian Foreign Ministry firmly assert that there are no violations of human rights in Ukraine and the cultural needs of Germans, Czechs and Hungarians, as well as any other minority, are fulfilled. Our complete respect of the rights and needs of ethnic minorities is confirmed in the reports of relevant international organizations.
Unfortunately, the Russian side has deliberately continued a campaign of disinformation, which is not based on facts, but instead on false assumptions and lies.
We call on the Russian Foreign Ministry to stop misleading its own people and the international community and take steps to address those specific violations of the rights of national minorities in its own country, concern over which is often expressed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and other leading international organizations.
