The Council of Exporters under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine hold its first session aiming at bringing Ukraine on external markets as a priority

On May 17, 2011 the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine hosted the first session of the Council of Exporters under the MFA of Ukraine, chaired by Minister Kostyantyn Gryshchenko. The session was devoted to the establishment of cooperation between the Ministry and leading exporters of Ukrainian engineering products with a view of enlargement of the export potential of Ukraine.

The session was attended by 18 CEOs of leading engineering enterprises of Ukraine, in particular, the state-run enterprise “Zarya-Mashproect”, the JSC “ZaporizhTransformator”, the JSC “Sumy Scientific and Production Association named after Frunze”, the JSC “AvtoKrAZ”, the JSC “Turboatom”, the JSC “Motor-sich” and others.

The members of the Council of Exporters discussed the format and directions of cooperation, which envisage the Ministry’s support of forming favorable conditions for the development of the export potential of Ukraine and promotion of Ukrainian producers on external markets. A special focus was made on the mechanism of coordination of the cooperation of the Ministry with the leading export producers of Ukraine in the context of enlargement of economic presence of the state abroad, including in the countries of Africa, Middle East and Latin America.

The Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Kostyantyn Gryshchenko, as the Chairman of the newly established council, confirmed the readiness of the Foreign Ministry to render maximum support of their participation in the realization of scaled infrastructure and investment projects in foreign countries.

With a view of effectively coordinating the actions, exchanging information on urgent issues in the sphere of creating favorable investment and export environment, the participants in the meeting signed the Memorandum of Mutual Understanding between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and Ukrainian company-exporters of engineering on cooperation within the framework of the Council of Exporters.

The participants in the Council were unanimous as for the need to create a separate working group, aimed at promoting the export of the Ukrainian engineering.

The Council of Exporters under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine is the permanent consultant body, established with the purpose of providing cooperation of the Ministry with leading exporters of Ukraine with a view of economization of foreign policy and enhancing the position of Ukrainian producers on world markets.
