On May 16, 2011 the Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs Yevhen Mykytenko held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Sierra Leone in Russian Federation John Sahr Francis Yambasu, who presented the copies of credentials for accreditation in Ukraine.

During the meeting the Sides exchanged views on the state and prospects of the development of bilateral relations. The Sides emphasized the need to accelerate the development of the legal basis between two countries and also to activate the Ukrainian-Leonese political dialogue and cooperation in economic, agricultural and educational spheres.
