Andrii Sybiha: The Gennadiy Udovenko Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine has received a license to offer master’s degree programs
25 June 2026 09:52

During a meeting with Igor Ostash, director of the Hennadiy Udovenko Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha announced that on June 22, on Hennadiy Yosypovych Udovenko’s birthday, the Academy was granted the right to offer a master’s degree program in “International Relations and Diplomacy.”

“This is one of the most important investments in the future of Ukrainian diplomacy in recent years. For the first time in many years, the Academy will once again train those who will represent Ukraine on the world stage in the near future. For me, this decision means much more than simply obtaining an educational license,” the minister noted.

The Foreign Minister emphasized that the Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine is an integral part of the history of Ukrainian diplomacy and continues the traditions established by the first generations of Ukrainian diplomats over a century ago.

“A country that seeks to properly defend its interests and strengthen its role in the world must invest not only in weapons, technology, or infrastructure. It must invest in people—first and foremost in those who will represent it abroad, conduct negotiations, build alliances, and open up new opportunities for their country,” he emphasized.

Andrii Sybiha noted that today the Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine is once again becoming a leading educational institution and is gaining new opportunities to shape the future of the Ukrainian diplomatic service. According to him, on September 1, the Academy will open its doors to its first class of 40 future master’s students.

“Perhaps among them will be future Ukrainian ambassadors, permanent representatives to international organizations, heads of diplomatic missions, foreign ministers, or directors of the Diplomatic Academy,” the minister emphasized.

The Foreign Minister thanked Director Ihor Ostash and the entire Academy team for making this achievement possible. The minister announced that all information regarding admission, the curriculum, and study conditions will be available shortly on the official websites of the Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine.

“I have an ambitious vision for the future of the Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine. It is to become a leading institution in its field, setting high standards, adopting the best global practices, and shaping a new generation of Ukrainian diplomats—one that is leadership-oriented, strong, and highly professional. This is truly an ambitious goal, and we are already working toward achieving it today,” Andrii Sybiha stated.
