On Saturday, February 21, with the facilitation of the Embassy of Ukraine in the Czech Republic and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, over 200 DJI Matrice reconnaissance drones were transferred to five brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, totaling approximately 800,000 USD.
The Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Andrii Sybiha, announced this. According to the Minister, the units receiving the equipment include "Azov," "Lyut," the 21st Separate Mechanized Brigade — supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs — and the "STRIX" unmanned systems unit.
"When we speak of diplomacy during wartime, we often imagine negotiation tables, international summits, or complex sanctions decisions. However, diplomacy today also entails concrete support for our warriors on the frontline. These drones were purchased using charitable contributions collected in the Czech Republic. This is a result of the joint work of diplomats, partners, and concerned individuals who understand that supporting Ukraine is not about words, but actions," the Head of the MFA noted.
Andrii Sybiha emphasized that reconnaissance drones will help preserve the lives of Ukrainian servicemen, contributing to the accuracy of decisions and superiority on the battlefield.
"When these drones were being loaded, everyone stepped up — from the attaché to the deputy minister. Regardless of ranks or offices. Simply a team that knows why they are doing it. For us, this is not a one-off initiative. This is systematic work. The diplomatic front operates as continuously as all others. And everyone in their place does what is necessary for victory," the Minister underlined.
