Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha: "Russia is afraid of Ukrainian books. It has good reason to be.
Every one of them carries what Moscow has spent centuries trying to erase: our language, memory, history, and the simple fact that Ukraine is Ukraine.
Once, the Russian empire banned Ukrainian books. Today, Russian drones burn warehouses filled with them. Different weapons, same obsession.
And the same failure.
Ukrainian books will be printed and read. Ukrainian culture will travel further. Ukraine will remain Ukraine.
Our task with partners is also clear: protect what Russia seeks to destroy and reduce its ability to destroy it. Ukraine needs more air defence, while Russia’s war machine needs fewer resources and fewer opportunities to produce weapons".
