Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha: "This morning, Russia attacked Kyiv with ballistic missiles. Now it has struck Sumy with guided aerial bombs. At least four people have been killed and seven more injured. The rescue operation continues.
Russia is attacking Ukrainian cities throughout the day with every weapon at its disposal. This is not “pressure” or “escalation.” It is the deliberate murder of civilians by a state that has made terror its policy.
The Kremlin believes it can bomb residential areas, kill Ukrainians, and still be treated as a party genuinely interested in peace. Every new strike proves the opposite. Moscow is using diplomacy as cover while continuing to kill.
Ukraine needs the capabilities to intercept Russian missiles, destroy the aircraft dropping these bombs, and protect its people. The decisions are known. The resources exist. What we need now is determined joint action.
Together with our partners, we must deprive Russia of its ability to terrorize Ukrainian cities, protect innocent lives, and force Moscow to understand that terror will never bring it victory."
