Andrii Sybiha commented on Russian attacks on railway facilities in Lutsk, Zviahel, and Fastiv
12 September 2026 22:39

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha: "Moscow tries to expand the geography of its terror. Unable to achieve its goals on the battlefield, Russia attempts to make the entire territory of Ukraine a battlefield and turns to systematic attacks against civilians, trains, and the infrastructure that keeps the country moving.

Today, Russian drones struck railway facilities in Lutsk and Fastiv, including a passenger train. People survived because the threat was detected in time and passengers were evacuated. In Zviahel, Russia struck a public transport stop and killed at least two people.

Closing Ukraine’s sky is part of defeating Russia’s strategy. We need air defense, interceptors and counter-drone capabilities to deny Moscow the ability to extend its war into our cities and transport networks.

And Russia’s growing drone production cannot remain outside the equation. A country producing thousands of weapons to expand terror far beyond the frontline must face systematic disruption of that production, its supply chains and the resources sustaining it.

Moscow wants to expand the battlefield. Our response should be to shrink Russia’s ability to wage war. Our partners have the capabilities and tools to do this."
