Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha: "One more important and productive meeting in Baku: I was glad to meet with Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister and my friend Jeyhun Bayramov.
We discussed expanding bilateral cooperation in political, economic, trade, and energy sectors, as well as demining and reconstruction. Exchanged views on political and security issues in the Black Sea and Caspian regions.
I informed my colleague about the battlefield situation and thanked Azerbaijan for its principled position of respect for Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
We discussed the most recent peace efforts and steps to end the war and ensure the restoration of a just and lasting peace. This requires an unconditional, durable, and full ceasefire. We appreciate and rely on Azerbaijan's support for our peace efforts.
We agreed to work on holding a meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation in the near future, as well as hosting a Ukrainian-Azerbaijani business forum and having an Azerbaijani delegation attend this year's Ukraine Recovery Conference in Rome on July 10-11.
I also discussed the progress of Ukraine's EU accession and the opportunities that Ukraine's future membership in the EU opens up for our partners.
I thanked Azerbaijan for its humanitarian and energy assistance, for rebuilding and supporting the city of Irpin, and for rehabilitating our children.
Agreed to maintain and develop the high level of political dialogue that Ukraine and Azerbaijan share as strategic partners."
