Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha: "I had a constructive call with Minister of International Relations and Cooperation of South Africa Ronald Lamola. I briefed him on the consequences of Russia’s attacks on Ukrainian energy system and thanked South Africa for supporting Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. I informed my counterpart about the facts of Russia’s illegal recruitment of African countries’ citizens, including from South Africa, into its war against Ukraine. We discussed ways to develop our bilateral cooperation and exchanged views on the upcoming high-level contacts within South Africa’s G20 presidency. I conveyed our appreciation to South Africa for supporting Ukraine’s candidacy to the UNESCO Executive Board for 2025-2029. I invited Minister Lamola to visit Ukraine."
