Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha: "Ukraine, Bulgaria, and Poland have been elected to the UNESCO Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission Executive Council. Russia also ran and worked hard to get elected but failed to win a seat.

We are grateful to UNESCO Member States for their support and for sending a strong message of solidarity with Ukraine and other candidates who uphold and promote UNESCO’s fundamental values.

The results demonstrate the Russian regime's ongoing international isolation. 

The broad consensus is that aggressors and violators have no place on international platforms, especially those tasked with maintaining peace and developing education, science, and culture."
