We are concerned about the attempts to aggravate the security situation in the Transdniestrian region of the Republic of Moldova.
A wave of reports on April 21-26 about the mining of educational institutions, the attack on the building of the so-called “ministry of state security”, the destruction of two radio towers in the Grigoriopol district and the explosions at the Tiraspol airport coincided with the statements by the Russian military command that it intended to seize the entire south of Ukraine and establish a land corridor to Moldova's Transdniestrian region.
Ukraine strongly supports Moldova’s territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders, condemns desperate attempts to drag Moldova’s Transdniestrian region into a full-scale war against Ukraine unleashed by Russia on February 24, and calls for de-escalation of tensions.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine continues to closely monitor the further development of events. The Armed Forces of Ukraine safely defend our state and are ready to disrupt any further insidious plans of the aggressor in the Ukrainian territory, including in the Southern Bug direction.
