Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba met with the delegation of the Ukrainian World Congress headed by President Pavlo Grod.
The Minister thanked the UWC leadership for their significant contribution to the support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The UWC informed that they rank third among public donor organizations assisting Ukraine. After the beginning of Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine, the UWC provided military and humanitarian aid totaling $55 million as part of the #UniteWithUkraine campaign. In particular, as part of the Energize Ukraine energy project, the UWC handed over equipment, transformers, and special trucks worth more than $1.5 million to Ukraine.
The Minister expressed gratitude for systematic, consistent support.
Dmytro Kuleba confirmed his support for the introduction of multiple citizenship in Ukraine. The Minister emphasized the importance of maintaining the connection of Ukrainians who were forced to leave abroad with their native country: "Multiple citizenship is not about geography, but about the unity of Ukraine and the entire Ukrainian people. Ukraine is wherever Ukrainians are."
At the same time, he emphasized that any dual citizenship with an aggressor state or unfriendly countries should be prohibited.
The Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on the UWC to continue to actively spread the truth about the Holodomor and work to ensure that even more countries and organizations recognize and condemn this genocide of the Soviet regime against Ukrainians.
"Thanks to our joint efforts, the parliaments of 28 countries of the world have already recognized the Holodomor of 1932-1933 in Ukraine as genocide of the Ukrainian people. We do not stop there and continue to work on expanding the geography of recognition of the Holodomor," Dmytro Kuleba emphasized.
In turn, Pavlo Grod spoke about the priorities of the UWC activity for the next four years. He presented the #ShineALight initiative and the Global Holodomor Descendants Network project "We Remember" aimed at honoring the memory of millions of victims of the Holodomor genocide.
