Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba: "I spoke with my Belgian counterpart and friend Hadja Lahbib. Following President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s talks with PM Alexander De Croo and President Ursula von der Leyen, we agreed on the next steps during the Belgian EU Presidency 2024 on Ukraine’s path to EU membership. Our common goal is to convene the intergovernmental conference in order to hold the first round of Ukraine’s EU accession talks in due time. I also welcomed Belgium’s decision to assist Ukraine through taxation on frozen Russian assets. We discussed next steps on the path to a comprehensive decision to use the assets. This decision is inevitable and Russia will pay for the damage it has caused".
