Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba: "During our meeting, Josep Borrell and I discussed ways to speed up delivery of weapons and ammunition to Ukraine, particularly air defense, in the wake of Russia’s intensified air strikes.
I also emphasized the importance of further increasing European defense industrial output and reiterated our call for EU governments to invest directly in Ukrainian arms manufacturers.
Ukrainian companies can produce more if they have more resources at hand and investing in them is the fastest way to provide additional weapons to our frontline warriors.
We also discussed the use of Russia’s immobilized assets for Ukraine’s benefit and paid specific attention to the EU’s continued assistance in Ukraine’s recovery.
I am grateful to the EU’s willingness to provide additional energy equipment, as well as assist the recovery of the damaged Okhmatdyt children’s hospital in Kyiv".
