Dmytro Kuleba: "The number one task is to return the Ukrainian-Indian relations to the pre-war level"
29 March 2024 20:42

During his visit to India, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba, emphasized the positive developments taking place in the bilateral relations between India and Ukraine.

He said this on Friday, March 29, during the broadcast of the national telethon "Yedyni Novyny" from New Delhi.

The head of the Foreign Ministry noted that India is gradually changing its understanding of Russia's war against Ukraine and clearly realizes that the Ukrainian-Indian relations have a great future.

"If you compare the state of our relations during the first year of the war and now, you can observe important positive changes. New Delhi considers Ukraine as an important partner", Dmytro Kuleba emphasized.

The Minister noted that Ukraine appreciates India's desire to establish sustainable peace in our country and its comprehensive participation in meetings on the implementation of President Zelenskyy's Peace Formula. According to him, Ukraine is working together with India and other countries to involve them in the Global Peace Summit to be held in Switzerland.

Dmytro Kuleba named three key tasks for the development of relations between Ukraine and India.

"The number one task is to return the level of cooperation in trade and the political sphere to the pre-war level. The pre-war level is a multibillion-dollar trade between our countries, which primarily means attracting money to the economy of Ukraine, creating jobs, selling Ukrainian goods in the world; it means promising joint developments in high-tech fields; this is the arrival of Indian companies on the Ukrainian market.

The second task is to work on new projects and programs that should bring Ukrainian-Indian relations to a new level.

Task number three is the Peace Formula. India's continued participation in the implementation of the Peace Formula will be an important signal for many countries in the region, which are oriented towards New Delhi, convincing them to join this initiative of President Zelenskyy," emphasized the Minister.

Dmytro Kuleba also reported that Ukrainian diplomacy is working on organizing the visits of Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi to Ukraine and President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy to India.
