Dmytro Kuleba called on the participants of the OSCE Annual Security Review Conference to resolve the Russian crisis for the sake of the future of Europe
26 June 2024 17:30

On Wednesday, June 26, the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Mr. Dmytro Kuleba addressed participants of the OSCE Annual Security Review Conference, a key event of the OSCE’s political and security dimension.

The Minister informed about the outcomes of the Peace Summit in Switzerland, which had united representatives of 100 countries and international organizations from all continents of the world around the idea of just and lasting peace for Ukraine as a precondition for restoring the full force of the UN Charter.

The Head of MFA thanked the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Minister for Foreign, Trade and European Affairs of the Republic of Malta Dr. Ian Borg for his participation in the Peace Summit in Switzerland and called on the OSCE to engage more actively in the implementation of President Zelenskyy’s Peace Formula.

«The Peace Formula is currently the only realistic path to ending the biggest war in Europe since the end of the Second World War. The Peace Formula is fully based on the norms, principles, and values enshrined in the UN Charter and the Helsinki Final Act. It is non-discriminatory in nature regarding any country. It is based on respect. And this is the reason why such a large majority of nations agree with it», - noted Dmytro Kuleba.

The Minister also called on the OSCE participating States to find a way to get rid of the «russian burden» within the Organization, which is shaking the very foundation of the OSCE.

«The ongoing participation of Russia in OSCE is a nonsense. The country that literally blew up the entire post-war security order in Europe and undermined this organization as a platform for dialogue. Russian representatives are still here, laughing into our faces. There are several reasons for such behaviour. Imperial arrogance. Disregard of any rules. Feeling of impunity. How do you deal with a country like this? First, it needs to be isolated. Otherwise, it will continue to block and disrupt any meaningful processes or initiatives», - emphasized the Minister.

Dmytro Kuleba called on the participants not to tolerate the Russian impunity for war crimes, ensuring its accountability. He also highlighted that resolving the Russian crisis will secure the peaceful and safe future for all of Europe.
