Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba had a telephone conversation with Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The Heads of Ukrainian and Emirati diplomacy positively noted the dynamics of bilateral trade and investment as well as the implementation of agreements reached during the official visit of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy to the UAE on February 13-15, 2021. Particular attention was paid to the possibilities of expanding the portfolio of projects of Emirati investment funds in Ukraine.
Dmytro Kuleba offered Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan to conclude a bilateral agreement on mutual recognition of vaccination documents from COVID-19 to simplify the travel conditions of citizens.
Conversation was focused on the preparation for the World Exhibition "Expo 2020" to be inaugurated on October 1 this year. Foreign Minister of Ukraine invited his Emirati counterpart to visit the Ukrainian pavilion during the celebration of the National Day of Ukraine exhibition on October 4.
Foreign ministers also exchanged invitations to pay visits at a time convenient to them.
For reference: according to State Statistics Service of Ukraine, after 4 months of 2021 the volume of trade in goods between Ukraine and UAE amounted to $166.84 million (exports of goods from Ukraine to UAE comprised $142.49 million).
