On 7 December 2020, First Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Emine Dzhaparova met with Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to Ukraine Ruslan Bolbochan.
The First Deputy briefed the Ambassador on numerous facts of human rights violations by the Russian occupation authorities in Crimea along with the militarization of the peninsula by Russia. She also presented the international initiative the Crimean Platform and invited the Moldovan side to actively engage in its work.
The parties reaffirmed the readiness of Ukraine and Moldova to continue the dialogue on a full range of issues of bilateral relations in the spirit of friendship, trust and mutual understanding that exist between the two peoples.
The parties also stressed on the continued mutual support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of both countries.
«Ukraine is an active participant in the negotiations on the Transnistrian settlement and we support the initiative of the President-elect of Moldova Maya Sandu to withdraw Russian military units from the Transnistrian region of Moldova as soon as possible,» said Emine Dzhaparova.
During the meeting Emine Dzhaparova called on Moldova to join an international flash-mob of video-greetings on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the foundation of UNESCO, initiated by the President of Ukraine.
