On March 2, First Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Emine Dzhaparova met with the newly appointed Representative of the Council of Europe Secretary-General in Ukraine, Head of the Council of Europe Office in our country Steen Nørlov (Denmark), and Office of the Directorate General of Programmes of the Council of Europe Director Verena Taylor.

Emine Dzhaparova congratulated Steen Nørlov on the beginning of his mission and expressed confidence that the Council of Europe Office in Ukraine would continue implementing projects developed jointly with Ukrainian partners under the Council of Europe Action Plan for Ukraine for 2018-2022.

The sides pointed out the importance of further effective implementation of the Action Plan as an effective practical tool for the support of the course of reforms in Ukraine by the Council of Europe in the areas of human rights protection, rule of law, and democratic society development.

The parties also discussed ways to increase the effectiveness of the draft Action Plan implementation, in particular, its items aiming to overcome the consequences of ongoing Russia's aggression against our state.
