On June 2, First Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Emine Dzhaparova received the letter of accreditation from newly appointed UNHCR Representative in Ukraine Karolina Lindholm Billing.  

Both parties noted with appreciation the cooperation between Ukraine and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. 

Emine Dzhaparova stressed the important role of the UNHCR Representation in Kyiv in strengthening the capacity of Ukrainian ministries and agencies, and supporting the efforts of the Government of Ukraine, aimed at mitigating humanitarian consequences of the Russian aggression.  

Both sides agreed to promote further fruitful cooperation, including in the area of search for and implementation of sustainable solutions for the internally displaced persons in Ukraine, as well as the protection of refugees and asylum-seekers.
